A Note From Our Co-Presidents

2017 has been quite a year for Baby Basics! A generous grant from TripAdvisor enabled us to make great strides this year, in addition to
continuing to build and strengthen our program. Some of the highlights of the year include:

  • Hosting a celebration in honor of our 20th anniversary and responding to the desperate need of families impacted by Hurricane Irma.
  • Thanks to our new warehouse space, we are able to take advantage of ordering discounted bulk diapers through the National Diaper Bank Network’s partnership with Huggies.
  • We rolled out a new promotional video (found on our website, www.babybasicsinc.org) that highlights our program and the 75 families we serve.
  • This video, potty training materials for all of our families and a survey to help measure the impact of our program, are a few of the ways TripAdvisor’s grant has enhanced the Baby Basics program this year.

In March, we held a wonderful celebration marking Baby Basics 20th anniversary. We honored Congressman Stephen F. Lynch with the Jean Ann Lynch Founders Award and recognized our long time partners, the South Boston Community Health Center & the Congregational Church of Needham, along with our founder, Jean Ann Lynch. It was a special celebration where we enjoyed connecting with Baby Basics friends, new and old, and celebrating the milestone of giving more than two million diapers to thousands of families in need over the last 20 years!

When Hurricane Irma struck, we were proud to partner with our sister program in Naples, FL, to provide over 8,000 diapers, shipped with the generous support of J.M. Brady & Co., which went immediately to families directly impacted by the storm. As we have all witnessed, the world around us is busy and uncertain. Baby Basics will continue to be a source of consistency for the families we serve and we remain focused on giving diapers and kindness. Our goal is to continue to expand our reach within our communities. We are especially
grateful to our donors for the steady support to continue and grow our program. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of families in need.
Happy holidays!
